While most remember Fort Fisher for its Civil War significance, this talk—“A Forlorn Spit of Land”—dives into its transformation during WWII. For four intense years, Fort Fisher served as a vital training ground for the U.S. Army’s Antiaircraft Artillery. The work was hard and gritty, but it helped prepare soldiers for the front lines of a global conflict.
