| Instructor Bio: | About the Speaker: Frank McMahon Assistant Site Manager, Halifax State Historic Site Frank McMahon is the Assistant Site Manager at Halifax State Historic Site, where he has played a vital role in preserving and interpreting the region’s rich colonial history since 2017. With an academic background in Anthropology and Archaeology, and a master’s degree in Park and Resource Management, Frank brings a unique blend of scholarly insight and practical experience to his work in cultural resource management. His passion for early American history is reflected in both his public programs and published work, including his recent article, “All Our People Here Are Ripe for Independence: Understanding the Halifax Resolves,” which explores the political and cultural climate leading to America’s push for independence. In his upcoming presentation, Frank will explore the brewing techniques and traditions of the 18th century, offering a fascinating look at how beer and brewing were deeply woven into the fabric of colonial life. His talk will illuminate the social, economic, and cultural significance of brewing in early American society—perfect for history buffs and craft beer lovers alike. |
