History Happy Hour Adult

Tuesday, July 16th | 5:30PM | Old Baldy Lighthouse

Join us for a Historic Happy Hour at the Old Baldy Lighthouse on July 16th at 5:30pm!  The Old Baldy Foundation is thrilled to host John Mosely, historian and Manager of the NC Maritime Museum Southport, as he shares insights into "Daughters of the Sky: The Women Airforce Service Pilots in Coastal North Carolina" during World War II.

Discover the incredible story of the WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), who played a crucial role in training soldiers in Cape Fear and beyond.  These brave women faced immense challenges and embarked on top-secret missions at Camp Davis in Holly Ridge, NC.  Hear firsthand from John Mosely, a seasoned historian with a background in history from the Citadel in Charleston, SC and a master's degree from UNC Greensboro, who has been deeply engaged in preserving and sharing the region's rich history through his work as a historian for "Tasting History," a walking history tour which includes sampling local restaurants of Carolina Beach.

Don't miss this opportunity to delve into local history while enjoying drinks with a view at the iconic Old Baldy Lighthouse.
