Solar Print Kit
Solar Print Kit – Inspired by the Historic Bamber Cyanotypes
Old Baldy Lighthouse, demonstrate the fascinating process of using sunlight to create images — and now you can try it for yourself!
Herbert Bamber used this process to reproduce and share images of Old Baldy and other Outer Banks lighthouses. Today, the Old Baldy Foundation is proud to preserve four rare Bamber cyanotypes — believed to be the only complete known set connected to Old Baldy.
This fun and educational kit lets you create your own beautiful solar prints using light-sensitive paper and everyday objects like leaves, shells, flowers, or stencils. Simply arrange your objects, place them in the sun, and rinse with water to reveal your one-of-a-kind blue masterpiece.
Kit Includes:
- 12 sheets of solar print paper
- Acrylic print frame holders
- Blank note cards
- Full instructions
Perfect for kids, families, artists, educators, and history lovers, this kit is a creative way to explore the same light-based process that helped preserve Old Baldy’s story for future generations.
